Mayor Ray Nagin promised to run the city like a business. Did he have the right team in place to do it? Here are the major players.
Ray Nagin
Mayor of New Orleans
When Nagin was elected in 2002, he became the first person in nearly 60 years to be elected mayor of New Orleans without having previously held elective office. Before that, he ran the southeast Louisiana region for Cox Cable, and he came into office promising a more businesslike approach, with better customer service and the use of technology to gain efficiencies.
