LEDA Offers Free Business Education Program for Entrepreneurs

"Free Education"

The Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) is set to roll out the fourth installment of its free educational program, the Business Life Cycle, specially designed for entrepreneurs and owners of micro-businesses. The program is designed to arm participants with crucial information and resources required for each stage of their business’s development. This project reaffirms LEDA’s commitment to strengthening the local economic environment by supporting and nurturing local businesses.

The program, scheduled to run every Wednesday from April 3rd to April 24th at 211 E. Devalcourt Street, will cover various topics including marketing strategies, financial management, and business development. With sessions slated to begin at noon, after a check-in and lunch at 11:30 a.m, participants are encouraged to arrive in time to settle in before the sequence of events kicks off.

Participants should plan to attend every session due to the program’s progressive nature which builds on the previous session’s knowledge. It is also crucial to come prepared for both theoretical and practical learning, and to note, although handouts will be provided, bringing a pen and notebook could be useful. One other thing to note is that parking at the venue may be limited, hence considering alternatives such as carpooling or using public transport is advised.

LEDA’s President and CEO, Mandi Mitchell, anticipates the program as an opportunity to gain industry knowledge, hands-on experience, and valuable resources. She believes that the program will cater to companies at all stages, from startups to mid-stage and established businesses. In addition to learning, the program also offers networking and collaboration opportunities, essential for any business.

Mark D. Mouton, Director of Business Retention and Expansion, will be the main host of the series. He is expected to cover essential topics such as business planning, precision marketing, strategic planning, and essential financial aspects, including funding, capital, and loan acquisition. Thus, providing comprehensive insights into these essential areas.

Each individual must register for each session individually, and remember, lunch is included in each of these sessions. So be sure to check the official LEDA website to secure your spot.
