58% of market leaders/fast followers have moved beyond the social-business experimentation stages.

Remember the recent past when employees “got in trouble” when they quietly did social media  work at the office? Today, these professionals are often singled out for praise—and promotions. After all, their initiative often fuels organizational achievements, as successful companies realize that their future survival depends on effective deployment of social-business strategies. A recent report from Constellation Research reveals that innovative businesses have now moved far beyond the trial stages and are moving forward with social-business efforts in a big way. The report, titled “Demystifying Social Business: Optimizing the Issue to Resolution Process (Support and Service),” conveys how social-business adoption has moved from experimentation to evangelization, and how proven case examples can provide a blueprint to developing winning social-business initiatives. As for major challenges? They include coming up with the most effective social strategy to benefit the business; scaling efforts to match demand; developing effective collaboration policies and practices; and, of course, budgeting all of initiatives for the long run. The report focuses on organizations that are considered leaders in social business, and more than 235 social-business adopters took part in the research.
