Mbappé scores twice in Real Madrid victory

Mbappé Victory

Kylian Mbappé scored his first two goals for Real Madrid in their 2-0 victory over Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu on September 1, 2024. The French star, who joined the club in a blockbuster transfer, found the back of the net in the 67th minute and converted a penalty in the 76th minute to secure the win for Los Blancos. The match, overseen by referee Javier Alberola Rojas, saw Mbappé shake off a slow start to make a memorable debut in LaLiga.

Vinícius Júnior also featured prominently in the match, but it was Mbappé’s performance that stole the spotlight.

Real Madrid’s win is viewed as significant by analysts, including Craig Burley, who emphasized its importance in the early stage of the season. The victory not only provided Real Madrid with crucial points but also demonstrated the impact of their new signing, Mbappé, in their quest for the LaLiga title.

After the match, Mbappé addressed the media, expressing his joy at scoring in the “mythical” Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

He also discussed his growing on-field chemistry with teammate Vinícius Júnior, stating, “People talk about me and Vini, it’s normal, we are two famous players.

Now I have to learn from him, his movements, what he likes on the field. We’re still getting to know each other on the field.”

Mbappé shared his thoughts on his early matches with Real Madrid, saying, “I have arrived at this club naturally, with humility, and wanting to have a good time outside the field with the teammates and the club, both with Vini and with the others. We have an incredible group; they are all great people as well as great players.

Things will improve with Vini as with the rest of my teammates, tactically and technically.”

The Frenchman also reflected on breaking his scoring slump, stating, “Three games without a goal might not be much for others, but for me, it’s significant. The support from the club and the fans has been incredible; they give me the confidence to give my all for this club and this badge.”

Real Madrid’s next fixtures will be closely watched as they aim to build on this victory and integrate Mbappé further into their squad dynamics. Meanwhile, the club also announced that midfielder Dani Ceballos is set to be out for 6-8 weeks due to injury.
