    The Nine Hottest Tech Jobs

These IT jobs represent the most in-demand tech positions, which include a range of functions and skills, including developers, security analysts and admins.

You probably know that talented IT professionals are in great demand, but you may not know which tech jobs are the hottest of the hot. Look no further than this list of the top nine IT jobs, which was compiled from recent research published by CareerBuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists International. To come up with the list, CareerBuilder and EMSI examined the average number of people hired per month in more than 700 occupations from January 2015 to this past September, and compared that to the number of job ads and postings for each occupation, as aggregated from online job sites during the same period. The resulting nine IT jobs represent a range of technology functions and skills, from creative areas (software and app developers) to safeguarding functions (information security analysts) to systems oversight fields (network and database administrators). Additional research indicates that demand is pushing earnings upward, with no tech job here paying less than $30 an hour. "For 100 occupations in the U.S., there is far more job posting activity than hiring month to month," said Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder and co-author of The Talent Equation. "The availability of jobs across industries underscores the need for companies to evaluate where their talent deficits are and become more strategic about how they fill these needs—whether that means re-skilling their current workers, offering higher salaries to attract workers or using data analytics to target talent with the right skills." The analysis is based on EMSI's labor market database, which compiles information from more than 90 national and state employment resources.
