Isn't it amazing how much knowledge can be imparted in 140 characters? That space limitation obviously applies to Twitter. Launched in July 2006, the site now commands more than 200 million monthly active users who post 340 million tweets a day. Many technology professionals turn to Twitter as a social networking tool, raising their career profile by posting and commenting on the latest industry news. But the Twitter universe is a crowded field, and the huge numbers of people tweeting can often make the site resemble a circus. To make matters worse, professionals often diminish the effectiveness of their tweeting efforts by lapsing into various bad habits that make them appear sloppy or careless—or simply as someone who doesn't really have much of anything useful to say. To avoid that, we've come up with the following 11 tips to create a perfect (or, at least, a pretty darn good) tweet.
