Dell’s Instable Acquisition Engine

Michael Dell—the founder of the company that bears his name—is on a huge spending spree. This week along, Dell made two major acquisitions—buying storage vendor EqualLogic for $1.4 billion and software as a service vendor Everdream for an undisclosed amount. Earlier this fall, Dell bought managed services tools vendor Silverback Technologies. Dell is definitely looking to revitalize the company made famous for its direct PC sales after losing some of its luster to rival Hewlett-Packard.
