    Digital Performance Issues Impede Transformation

Many managers aren't confident that they can resolve digital performance problems—a situation that creates significant barriers to business transformation.

A majority of both IT and business professionals lack confidence in their ability to resolve digital performance issues, according to a recent survey from Dynatrace. The resulting report, "The Global Digital Performance and Transformation Audit," reveals that a lack of effective response to these problems presents a significant barrier to a successful digital transformation. What's more, specific issues—including tech systems complexities, a lack of scalability and the failure of IT, business and customer support departments to collaborate—are resulting in the loss of hundreds of hours of productivity every year. Business relies "on technology to remain competitive and succeed in a modern world that has accelerated more in the last three years than during the last 30," said John Van Siclen, CEO at Dynatrace. "While today's technology is extremely powerful, the result is a hyperscale, hyper-complex corporate IT environment, which can create a very real barrier to succeeding at digital performance. If you don't master this complexity challenge … your customers, employees and bottom line will suffer." Nearly 1,240 global IT and business professionals took part in the research.
