45% of sole-breadwinner moms earn under $35,000 per year, versus 15% of dads in the same role.
A working mother who is the sole breadwinner for her family earns much less money than a father in a comparable role, according to a CareerBuilder survey of full-time workers with kids living at home. Women were three times likelier than men to earn under $35,000, while men were more than twice as likely to make $50,000. The survey did not address the causes of this disparity, but did touch on some of the social complexities behind the issue
