Standards Development
Through the International Imaging Industry Association (I3A), Kodak also supports the Common Picture Exchange Environment (CPXe) Initiative, which uses more basic Web-based standards including:
- Extensible Markup Language (XML), used for encoding data in standard "tags."
- Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), to pass commands, queries and responses between computer applications.
- Web Services Description Language (WSDL), to describe offered services in a format that different applications can understand.
- Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI), a protocol for the creation of directories of Web services.
