Tech Jobs Most Likely to Get Big Salary Increases
2017 is looking like another great year for tech professionals, especially when it comes to their earning potential. But if you were wondering which IT jobs are poised to land the biggest starting salary increases, look no further than this research from Robert Half Technology and the Creative Group. Overall, base compensation in the tech field is projected to grow by 3.8 percent, the research indicates. But employees in the eight positions listed here should see significantly higher starting salary increases than that. The positions cover many of the hottest tech niches, including mobility, big data, user experience and cyber-security. With respect to average starting salaries, job candidates with proven experience in these areas often command compensation levels that extend into the six-figure range. Even better, the demand for these and other IT specialties is expected to continue into the foreseeable future. "Companies continue to seek out highly skilled professionals who can drive digital initiatives that will help them meet business goals and increase revenue," said John Reed, senior executive director of Robert Half Technology and the Creative Group. "Although employers are taking a measured approach to hiring, they're moving quickly and paying competitively when they identify tech … candidates who are a good fit for their organization, given the tight labor market with low unemployment rates."
