Tech Firms That Offer First-Rate Employee Benefits
During the week, you spend most of your waking hours at work—49 hours on average for salaried workers—so smart companies are doing what they can to create a pleasant work environment and provide a good benefits package. Given the continuing intense level of competition for technology talent, a growing number of organizations are now providing enhanced benefits packages. To get a sense of what's out there in terms of benefits, you need look no further than Glassdoor's "Benefits Reviews," from which we've pulled the top 10 technology companies for employee benefits. In general, workers are pleased with what their employer offers, as just over half of them reported that they believe their benefits package is better than what competitors offer, according to additional Glassdoor survey research. That said, the businesses on this list are pushing benefits standards to new levels, including free rides to and from work, unlimited time off, heavily discounted company products, huge matches on 401(k) contributions, and free food and beer. One company even provides summer and winter breaks—on top of an incredibly liberal vacation plan. Glassdoor based its list on benefits ratings data collected from its site users, focusing on companies with at least 20 reviews of their benefits program.
