If you're looking for an in-demand IT niche, then consider specializing in mobile technology functions such as device management and application development. The vast majority of organizations surveyed are creating and filling mobile positions now, according to a recent survey from Antenna Software. This is only expected to increase as these devices grow in popularity and user adoption. They're not dead-end jobs either; Many companies have brought on a more senior-level mobile strategist to oversee a big-picture vision. "While mobile and wireless technologies have been part of business culture for many years, we're only beginning to see the broad social and economic impact they will have for many years to come," said Jim Somers, chief marketing and strategy officer for Antenna. "We expect to see a greater number of businesses expand their mobile teams and identify a mobile strategist to lead the way and ensure long-term success." HR managers from approximately 600 enterprises in the United States and the United Kingdom took part in the research.
