Not every retail merchant is required to invite an auditor into its headquarters to assess its compliance with the PCI DSS. Those retailers with fewer than 6,000,000 transactions per year instead must complete a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) on their own combined with a Quarterly Network Scan.
