How smart are employees at your company when it comes to safeguarding corporate information systems? A test for security aptitude. To give companies a jump-start on computer security education, the Information Technology Association of America and survey firm Brainbench created in June a certification program that works much like the driver's license renewal process. Workers are given a 55-page study guide before taking the test. "Companies can save a lot of money if they can just get people to pay attention," says Brainbench President Mike Russiello.
To gauge your company's security aptitude, ask staff outside the technology department to complete this downloadable Microsoft Excel quiz.
