Kodak's digital photo business relies on EasyShare, a software package it developed in-house.

Kodak uses open source applications for key operations at Ofoto, its online digital photo service, but its beachhead in digital photo-taking is built around its own easyshare software.

Standards Development
Through the International Imaging Industry Association (I3A), Kodak also supports the Common Picture Exchange Environment (CPXe) Initiative, which uses more basic Web-based standards including:
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML), used for encoding data in standard "tags."
  • Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), to pass commands, queries and responses between computer applications.
  • Web Services Description Language (WSDL), to describe offered services in a format that different applications can understand.
  • Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI), a protocol for the creation of directories of Web services.
