Challenge: Deploy geographic information system to help control rat and rodent population.


  • Reduce rat complaint calls to 100 a quarter, from 467 in the fourth quarter of 2004.

  • Drop the number of callbacks to 200 by the fourth quarter of 2005, from 272 in the fourth quarter of 2004.

  • Continue double-digit reduction in the amount of rodent poison used, which decreased 18% from the fourth quarter of 2003 to the fourth quarter of 2004.
