With the use of mobile devices in the workplace skyrocketing, managers confess that it's getting difficult to communicate with workers when they're on the road, according to a recent survey from Qumu. One solution? Video technology solutions. Given its role as a webcasting/video delivery company, Qumu obviously has a stake in the survey results. Still, with products that support smartphones and tablets, companies can deliver information about practically anything to staff members—no matter where they are. Videos supporting trade show events and customer exchanges provide the most value, survey findings indicate. Oh, and employees are apparently ready to ditch routine live meetings to call them up later on video. More than 100 professionals in charge of corporate communications technologies took part in the research.
