Once again, Dell and Hewlett-Packard fought a tight race to the top of our 2008 Vendor Value rankings for hardware vendors.
|
|
- Dell has pushed aggressively into space occupied by IBM, H-P, Sun and EMC, which helped it recapture the top spot in the hardware sector.
- HP, a true full-service hardware vendor, remains a clear top choice among IT executives, and has one of the strongest loyalty ratings in our survey.
- Big Blue lagged well behind the top two in each ranking but still had strong enough ratings to move it up a spot from last year.
- EMC’s RSA Security unit took top honors overall this year, but the parent company was clearly outpaced by perennial favorites Dell and Hewlett-Packard.
- Sun’s diverse offerings leave it in a difficult competitive position against true hardware vendors.
