If it is a boring position, a stagnant company or a poor work environment then perhaps the draw is better compensation. Or perhaps salary is low, but the position offers a chance to work on new, exciting technology. The better a hiring manager understands the true value proposition, the more successful they’ll be at “selling” recruits on a job.
