Many PMs make the mistake of assuming that motivation is a static experience. Motivation must be cultivated throughout the project and it wouldn’t hurt to ask individual geeks what motivates them, rather than falling into the trap of thinking that motivation is something we do to someone else. It’s a dialogue.
