Accenture recently surveyed 300 senior IT professionals in North America and the UK about their ERP systems. The following slides highlight the survey results.

- On average, respondents reported their organizations use only 64% of their enterprise systems’ core functions
- Approximately 50% said they don’t need all the capabilities provided by their enterprise systems.
- One-fifth of those surveyed said they didn’t make use of all the functionality due to lack of time to learn how to apply the features.
- 31% of respondents use enterprise systems in half or less of the organization.
- 37% of UK companies and 27% North American companies have little or no data sharing with their customers.
- Only 19% overall have fully integrated their enterprise system with customers’ systems.
- 77% believe that emerging Web 2.0 technologies will have a positive impact on the future usage of enterprise systems.
- 28% of all respondents widely use SaaS throughout their organization.
- On average, respondents believe that more than half of current enterprise systems will be replaced by new technologies.
- 76% of respondents said enterprise systems provide a competitive advantage and strategic value to their organizations.
- 87% believe that spending on enterprise systems, including the use of newer technologies like SaaS, will increase or remain steady in the future.
