Slow Growth For IT Salaries

As the recovery struggles to take wing, IT salaries in 2010 are rising just slightly over last year's. At the same time, a number of benefits are on the decline. Some benefits, though, such as flex-work schedules, are increasing in popularity as employers attempt to keep valuable IT staffers, according to a new survey from Janco.

$78,210 is the current average compensation for all IT professionals, up from $77,690 in 2009.

$74,430 is the current compensation for all IT positions in mid-sized enterprises, up from $73,905 in 2009.

$81,960 is the current compensation for all IT employees in large enterprises, up from $81,475 in 2009.

$181,533 is the current compensation for CIOs in large enterprises, up 7.52 percent from 2009.

$169,303 is the current compensation for CIOs in mid-sized enterprises, up 3.73 percent from 2009.

$79,924 is the current compensation for IT middle managers in large enterprises, up from $79,230 in 2009.

$73,217 is the current compensation for IT middle managers in mid-sized enterprises, up from $72,444 in 2009.

$66,230 is the current compensation for IT staffers below middle managers in large enterprises, up from $65,965 in 2009.

$61,047 is the current compensation for IT staffers below middle managers in mid-sized enterprises, up from $60,279 in 2009.

53 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive personal performance bonuses this year, down 13 percent from 2009.

35 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive enterprise performance bonuses in 2010, down 7 percent from 2009.

14 percent of IT professionals are projected to earn use of a company automobile in 2010, down 7 percent from 2009.

25 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive stock options in 2010, down 2 percent from 2009.

86 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive health insurance in 2010, up 5 percent from 2009.

64 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive 401K benefits in 2010, which is the same percentage as 2009.

56 percent of IT professionals are projected to receive flex hours/scheduling benefits in 2010, up 7 percent from 2009.

57 percent of IT pros expect to get disability coverage this year, up 8 percent from 2009, the biggest gain among benefits offered.
