Men Work Less than Women - and Pay the Price
Women are working longer hours and are perceived to be more honest in the workplace, according to a new report from theFIT. In its "Report on Workplace Culture," theFIT finds that women are also working more days per week than men and are more likely to work while on vacation. How are these cultural differences affecting job performance and compensation? Women are being rewarded with bonuses and other incentives. Developed by Bullhorn, theFIT.com is a Website designed to help employees, job seekers and companies explore corporate culture. "Job descriptions and company Websites only touch ... the surface of a company's true culture," said Art Papas, Bullhorn's CEO. "theFIT is designed to eliminate the mystery by revealing workplace cultural traits you could never discover unless you worked for the company. Gender differences are just one of many cultural aspects we'll be reporting on in an effort to break through the artificial walls of workplace culture." Bullhorn creates recruiting and staffing software for both start-ups and established companies. An estimated 5,250 workers took part in the research. For more about the report, click here.
