Many CIOs report to CFOs, so it's important to understand what the financial types are thinking, and one thing they have on their minds is cloud computing. BDO's third annual Technology Survey of Chief Financial Officers, conducted in January, parsed the responses of 100 CFOs at major US tech companies.

90% of those using the cloud plan to increase usage or keep it steady in 2010.

32% of CFOs surveyed say cost flexibility is the key driver of usage.

32% cite increased scalability as the key reason to head into the cloud.

29% say improved business ability impels their cloud strategy.

39% of CFOs surveyed say security concerns keep them from the cloud.

29% say "hassle and expense" discourage moving to the cloud.

14% cited limited application features as making them cloud averse.

66% of CFOs say they are interested in clean technology.

43% actually produce clean tech products or services.

41% of CFOs cited the federal government as a major driver of clean-tech involvement.
